Happy Trails ... toooo us ! :)

  I can't believe it's been 4 years now.  Below is what was written when we first moved in -- I'll have to get some "after" pictures this spring to show what we've done with the place. :)

  Good news!   As of Oct. 28th 2004 - we will no longer be wishing we had a larger place to call home.  We will be there !!!

12.5 acres and 3 huge barns with a private pond is only part of the reason to be happy.  Throw in corn fields for neighbors and a cozy fireplace in the living room and you have ... Cloud 9. :)  -- UPDATE ... we were able to purchase the 10 acre field next door ... we're not the proud owners of 22.5 acres.

Nice big house

 Nice big house with high ceilings and a fire place.

 I can just see it now - 8 dogs lounging in front of the fireplace - while I sit on the couch with a blanket.

Oh well - I can always just enjoy the view. :)

Gotta LOVE the barns !!

 Couldn't you just LIVE in this barn ?!?

 It might sound silly but it was the biggest selling point for us.  After looking at the house it was the barn that my husband and I talked about for days and days afterward.

 I can't wait to see the horses when they see it for the first time. They're used to their lean-to right now and although cozy and they love it ... just wait til they see their new 'digs'.    They'll be moving on up !! :)

Love it - Love it Love it !

See what I mean ?  How cozy can you get. Picture this with less cob webs and a clean floor and you have Horse Heaven ! :)

Cleaning this barn out is the first thing on our list.  We'll have three very happy horses living in there -- Appy - Paint and a Belgian and soon we hope to add a PMU Clydesdale Rescue as well as a baby Belgian to the family to enjoy it as well.

 You know - my Dad is a builder ... maybe a little apartment IN the barn isn't such a bad idea .... :)

2nd barn ----------->

2nd big barn with a lean-to.  It also has one stall on the inside.  The pond isn't far from it on the one side.  It needs to be cleaned up but that will be done too ... as soon as we move in.  Any volunteers ? :)

<--------- 3rd barn with Lean-to

Yet another barn with lean-to.  Not sure what it looks like inside - I was afraid to walk out there since the grass was so high.  Once it's mowed I'll get some pictures but right now I'd rahter NOT go where there might be a <gasp> SSSNAKKKE !!!!!!  ick - ick - ick !!

Xanadu

 Little Miss spoiled Xanadu.  Xanny for short.  She has us wrapped around her little hooves and she KNOWS it.  She's Daddy's girl. :)

Rescue Clydesdale - GORGEOUS! --------->

 To the right we have a GORGEOUS Clydesdale that was Rescued from Canada and is now in the US.  We are in the process of adopting "Chicco" and hope to be welcoming him to the family in the next few weeks.

 Check back soon for the full story of Chicco and others just like him that also need Rescuing from slaughter in Canada.

Rippa .... to your left <-----

 Rippa came to us with Australian Stringhalt disease .. caused by a toxic plant that he had eaten.  His back legs wouldn't work so he had stood in one spot for months ... wasting away.  We took him in and our wonderful Veterinarian - Dr. Brown - called all over the world (including Australia) and found a drug that might help.

A month later Rippa was walking again. Four months after that .. you couldn't even tell that Rippa had been sick. :)

The gangs all here ...

Running up to see what I'm doing.  It's cold and rainy and wet but this gang is always happy to run up and give some loves to whoever comes out to see them. :)
