Meet some of the Critters we have here with us - we are lovingly
referred to as the "Critter Corral" by many of our friends

What fun! You get to meet some of the "Critters" we have Rescued and have here with us.
Some have horrific stories - some were just found and we don't know the story but all have
the same HAPPY ending. All will either find new loving homes or stay with us here forever.

GONE is the abuse - GONE are the homeless days of trying to fend for themselves to stay alive.
Nothing but blue skies ahead and a life full of happiness.

Jack was found wandering the streets - bone thin and covered in ticks. He's now happy, healthy, neutered and looking for a great home.

Minnie -- this is Minnie the Lab Greyhound mix. She was starved nearly to death when we got her and her two brothers but today one of her brothers has been adopted and she and her other brother Sam are here with us.
Sadly, we lost Minnie to lung cancer this year. We miss her very much and will never forget her. :(

Hollywood (black and white dog) came to us with Parvo and fighting for his life. He's a little on the skittish side with strangers but he loves his best friend Sheba (Brown dog) and doesn't pass up any chance to sleep on the waterbed - upside down. :)

Nexxus is one of our own dogs. We got him as an 8 week old - he thinks he's handsome enough to bless the cover of Vogue Magazine. :)

Being that we're in Michigan we get lots of snow. We may get sick of it at times but the dogs LOVE it! Here they are playing "tag" during one of our snowstorms.

These Boxer mix pups were Rescued at 5 weeks old and had ringworm so bad they had big patches of bald spots all over their little bodies. After vet treatment, puppy shots, lots of food and love they were able to be adopted. They all went to loving homes. :)

Who says cats and dogs can't get along ? Minnie - Pepsi and "Cat Dracula" all taking some time off and stealing my bed for a quick nap

Sweetums really is a sweetheart of a pup. She too came to us with Parvo and made a great recovery. She's old enough to be spayed now and once she is will be looking for a great home.

Kitty was born with her front legs deformed. She was brought to us by a family that couldn't take care of her anymore. Don't let Kitty's picture fool you ... she can out-run - out-jump out-eat the best of the regular cats. The vet says she's just fine and can lead a normal life if not let outside.

Blizzard (on the left) decided to sing me a quick song as I took this picture of her an Magic (right). Blizzard actually found us - she dug under our privacy fence to get in one day when there was a huge Blizzard. Magic was a dog that was seen by all the locals but they could never catch him because he would vanish. After 10 days in the freezing cold trying to find and catch him - we finally did.

Ok here's the scoop. My husband and I tried to build something for the dogs to play on when they were outside. Mother nature granted us 3 days of nice weather so we built what can only be described as a 'wooden contraption'. The dogs LOVE it though and are always playing "king of the contraption". Just wait til you see the pond we try to dig in the spring. :)

Same contraption only a week later with 2 ft of snow. They're still loving it though ... in fact three of them are sitting their dog butts on the top of it. :)

One day we received a call about a dog who had been hit by a car and was lying in the weeds. The owner of the dog was sleeping and told the caller that when he woke up he would shoot the dog. 30 minutes later we arived to find a poor dog with a broken leg and covered in ticks. After getting permission from the owner we whisked the dog to the vet where he received the care he needed and a couple months later was placed into a wonderful home. :)

Badge is wishing you a MERRY CHRISTMAS! We found Badge as a pup ( 6 months old ) tied up behind a house that didn't have inside plumbing. These people had only a bucket as a toilet and would throw the waste from that bucket out next to poor Badge. He was barely alive when we found him but after taking him home and getting him to the vet he seemed to perk up a little. Badge had a poweful will to survive and although he also had heartworm and a virus that almost took his back leg ... he did just that .. he survived! Being that he is a special needs dog he will be with us forever but we are honored to have him here. :)

Maggie --- Maggie is a Lab Mix who came to us a few months ago with a broken leg. Her leg was so swollen it hurt to even look at her. The owner told us she couldn't afford vet treatment so if we couldn't take her she'd have to suffer. We of course took her and get her to the vet immediately where she got her oh so stylish cast. She's seen here sleeing with her leg propped up on my shoes. Look closely and you'll see where the other dogs have signed her cast. :)
Maggie has now been adopted and part of a wonderful new family. YAY MAGGIE! :)

Outside playing in the yard on a nice summer day.

At the end of the day this is the view we get each night in the summer. Couldn't ask for a better view than this. :)

More picture soon I promise. :) Be sure to click on the button at the left to see Coalie the horse who was just rescued from a very abusive situation.
